Motivational Monday: Baby Pink Clouds Edition

Are you a fan of motivational quotes? I am (it is quite obvious, isn't it? I am even writing a post called Motivational Monday) and as soon as I read the “Never give up on a dream” quote it really touched me and I quickly wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it. It has been my favorite quote for more than a week now and I wanted to share it with you. Who knows, maybe you will get inspired by it as well. The words are very pretty, however, I thought something was missing. Baby pink and clouds! Yes, that's always the answer.

Do you have any favorite quotes to share?

Friday Favorites: Summertime Love

Summer is slowly coming to an end, but I am trying to deny this fact as much as I can (even though I am wearing long sleeves at the moment…). My mind is still at the seaside, where I had a lot of fun with friends. Here are some of my favorite moments:

1. Favorite view
I swear I can still smell the salty air and feel the breeze just by looking at these photos. I will make it my mission to go to the seaside at least one more time before the summer officially says goodbye.

2. Favorite fruit
There was a fig tree below my balcony. It was so close, yet too far to pick a single fig. Torture!

 3. Favorite feeling
Your feet in the beach sand/stones. You know the feeling  :)

 4. Favorite breakfast

Fresh fruit with strawberry juice and the smell of lavender. I love light meals that fill you up with energy and this one was definitely an energy booster. My singing around the house started the second I finished the meal early in the morning. The day started very promising I must say.

5. Favorite sunset
This photo is so calming and relaxing. The view was from our main balcony. Majority of the time the balcony doors were open, so we were able to enjoy the view all the time.

Oh how lovely would it be to go back again. Where did you spend your summer holidays?

Sparkle Time with LUSH Sunnyside Bubble Bar

As some of you may know, I went for a holiday to Croatia with my friends. While exploring the beautiful island Rab, I suddenly noticed Lush store. I took that as a sign and quickly told my friends they can find me in there doing the usual stuff; smelling the products. The shop was pretty and tiny and it got quite crowded after my friends joined. Sadly, I didn't have the camera with me (I fail at being a tourist) so I have zero photos of the store. I do, however, have photos of my new favorite bubble bar that I decided to purchase.

The sales lady wrapped it in this lovely paper bag, which I am happy to say I will soon be able to stick on our compost heap.

And here it is; super bright and sparkling Sunnyside bubble bar. It has tiny golden glitters (that were all over my face after taking these photos, but I didn't mind at all), it has only cruelty-free ingredients, which means no animals were harmed in the making AND it is vegan! You can purchase it here and also check the ingredients.

I haven't had the time to use the bubble bar yet, as I have just arrived back home, but if you want, I can  later let you know about bathing in gold experience. The description on Lush website says the bar turns the water bright gold and has shimmer to it, while filling the room with a cheerful aroma. Well… I like that!

Let me finish this post with some sweet words:
Don't be afraid to sparkle a little brighter ;)

Motivational Monday

Today was a super busy and a bit overwhelming day for me. You know, one of those days when you are not sure where your head is. I decided to take a moment and look at this photo/quote that I found on the internet a long time ago, while looking for some cute motivational stuff. I don't know about you, but I LOVE reading inspirational quotes from time to time. This is why I decided to post it - if by any chance your day was a bit hectic, these words might be that little help that puts you back on track. They sure did help me :)

Now I am ready for Croatian seaside part 2! Bring on summer breeze, smell of salt, fishes that are cute, but freak me out if they want to bite. Let's go!
(Let me just pack first…)

FRIDAY FAVORITES: Cruelty Free Fashion Items

Another week around, another Friday Favorites. This time I made a list of 5 Cruelty free fashion items - summer version, of course (no room for long sleeves or boots, not yet. Way. Too. Hot.)

1. Fetch Eyewear Sunglasses - Tracy Sun design

This brand is so much more than just pretty and good quality sunglasses. Fetch Eyewear donates 100% of profits to the Pixie Project in support of animal rescue and adoption. How awesome is that?

2. Cri De Coeur - Arden Wohl x CDC Clio Sandal

I know I wrote about Cri De Coeur not too long ago (and I still need to check how to spell the name several times before writing it), but come on - how gorgeous are these shoes? They are made of sustainable vegan leather and fabric upper. They were made in an ethical, sweatshop-free facility in China. You don't mind I mentioned this brand again, right? :)

3. Annie Greenabelle

This lovely floral top and skirt are both made of 92% organic cotton and elastane and are available for a purchase separately. I found the items on Topshop's Official Website, where you can buy them online, but I also like to check the company's online shop Annie Greenabelle.

4. River Island

Being a big fan of River Island bags, I wasn't surprised when I went to their store and once again noticed an amazing variety of purses. This beauty caught my eye and the good thing is that it is made of 100% polyurethane so ladies can be fashionable without wearing animals. Whoop whoop!

5. The Hungry Elephant -  happy cow Bella

First of all can we stop for a second and think about how adorable the name The Hungry Elephant is? Not that I want elephants to be hungry (no, no, no!), I just find the name super sweet. I really like what this company stands for; their charms of compassion strive to spread awareness and love for each other, animals and earth. They also donate to different animal charities (part of August proceeds will be donated to Animal Place Sanctuary). You can choose between different designs and animals. I really like cows so I decide to present you Bella :)

Have a great weekend everyone! x

5 Healthy and Guilt-free Chocolate Bars

Snacking on chocolate bars is one of my favorite things to do when I am on the go, during work and I enjoy eating them in between meals. I prefer healthier versions, so that I don’t feel guilty after munching on them. The following bars are some of my favorites; because they are super yummy, healthy and they fill me with energy.

  •   Nakd; raw fruit and nut bar – cocoa delight (ingredients: dates, cashews, raisins, cocoa, natural chocolate flavoring and that's all folks ;). It is available in Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Planet Organic, Whole Foods Market...
  •    Raw Organic Food Bar – chocolate coconut (ingredients: cashews, date paste, agave syrup, coconut, dark chocolate chips – non dairy, brown rice protein, flax sprouts, quinoa sprouts). Available in Planet Organic, DM stores...
  •    Lifebar; raw superfood bar– chocolate and green protein (ingredients: dates, almonds, hemp protein powder, pumpkin seeds, raw almond paste, raw chocolate, virgin coconut oil, spirulina powder, vanilla powder)
  •     Frutabela – dark chocolate (ingredients: fruit puree (apple, pear, sour cherry), grape nectar, chocolate, coconut flour, oat flakes, apples, raisins, inulin, blackberries). This one is the cheapest and it can be found in shops in Eastern Europe.
Enjoying a Lifebar, I am not complaining.
  •    Luxurye; organic chocolate bar enriched with rye fibre – cinnamon (ingredients: coconut sugar, rye bran, cocoa powder, water, rice syrup, palm oil, cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin, citric acid, honey, green tea, agar, apple vinegar, grapefruit extract, cinnamon)

What is your favorite guilt-free snack?

How To Be Happy: My 4 Simple Tips

This is my new segment called Motivational Monday where I share my personal tips. Today I wanted to talk about 4 simple steps that make me happy and bring sparkles to my life. Here we go:

1. Exercise

Even if you think you don’t have time to exercise, you should make time for it. Different studies show its positive effect on our happiness (it is even an effective strategy to overcome depression). I tried going to the gym, yoga classes etc. but now I realize that exercising at home suits me most (sometimes I do Jillian Michaels’ exercises or Insanity workout, other times I will pop to Neila Rey's website for quick workout tips and inspiration). I suggest you learn what suits your body and your schedule best.
I also make sure I spend a decent amount of time outside as well; I go for a walk with my dog, running or swimming and I always feel amazing afterwards.

2. Eat healthy
Photo: Deliciously Ella
Have you ever noticed you feel a bit down or tired after eating heavy and unhealthy processed foods? I have and I don’t like the feeling. This is why I try to eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid eating packed food that has weird ingredients that I have never heard of before. Instead of sweets filled with sugar, I prefer snacking on raw desserts (they do not suit everyone, but I am definitely a fan).

Find some amazing and super healthy recipes on Deliciously Ella

3. Learn to have a positive attitude

Be aware of your thoughts and try to stay positive. I know it’s easier said than done (trust me, I know how tricky ones mind and thoughts can be), but our mind is like our body; you need to work on it every day to see results. It is a step-by-step process, but the results are pretty awesome. Personally, I like to make motivational posters, I have a special folder on my computer with nice photos and sayings, I like reading books about the subject (one of my favorite authors is Louise Hay, but there are plenty of others out there), I listen to interesting talks on my Ipod as well, among other things.

4. Listen to music

Last but not least, I like to make playlists with my favorite songs, turn the volume up, lie down, close my eyes, enjoy and just smile :)

Do you have any special tips that put a smile on your face? I would love to hear your suggestions.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! It is already August (what?!) and I wanted to talk about some of my favorites that I have been enjoying this summer so far. Let's begin!

1. Favorite Beauty Product

Lavera 2 in 1 Anti-Blemish Treatment
This product includes a serum and a concealer. Firstly apply the organic peppermint and tea tree packed serum to targeted areas to purify and accelerate the skin's healing process, then apply the plant-based concealer wand directly after, to hide scars and redness. My skin loves this product!

2. Favorite Fashion News

Esprit - the launch of new PETA approved trainers

3. Favorite Recipe

Scrambled tofu from Fat Free Vegan

Even though scrambled tofu recipes seem to be everywhere, I hadn't tried one until a few days ago, and I loved it. I had it for lunch two days in a row and went to buy more tofu today…

4. Favorite (Fitness) Motivation

Nothing is easy and it takes time, but always remember why you're doing this and what you really want! Stay focussed! Your dreams are always worth all the struggles!

5. Smart Alarm Clock

This app is the only thing that wakes me up successfully. I used to always sleep through my alarm clock and miss lovely summer mornings. These days are now over, because the smart alarm won't stop until I correctly solve three different calculations. Yes, I do look like a mess, but at least it makes me get out of my comfy bed. Now the only thing I still need to work on is how to get to bed on time in the evening...
